Good morning, world. Things are looking pretty good from the front porch of my farm in Virginia today. It was cool when I stepped onto the porch early in the morning but it’s not going to stay that way for long. Soon the sun will be blazing, the temperature rising, and even the clear skies will show the signs of heat. I know that’s the way it will be because I’ve been told by the experts and I can make my plans for this day according to what I’ve been told. As I sat in the presence of the Living God this morning, I received a Sweet Reminder from Heaven about the Future. He reminded me that as surely as I know what to expect for the weather today, I know what to Expect in my Future too – and all my Plans for this day, and every day after that, need to be in accordance with what I’ve already been told by my Expert. Isn’t that the way you consider the Future too?
The world is in turmoil and our country appears to be in perpetual upheaval…and it’s a very disturbing thing to watch…but it should come as no surprise to anyone because of the Expert’s Predictions. We’ve already been told what to expect, and we’ve been warned about what will take place before the King of Kings returns. But plenty of people are placing plenty of blame for the state of our world on politics and conspiracies and the hate in the world is being felt by all. Hate running through the veins of the lost ones comes as no surprise to me. After all, Light doesn’t exist within them, and “they know not what they do.” But the hate running through the veins of the ones professing to be followers of Jesus Christ gets to me every time. If they tap into His Word the way I tap into His Word they’d see that the Expert Predicted what we’re seeing today and there’s no place for hate. If they Knew Him the way I do, they’d be much more focused on Him and the Master Plan than they are on the ways of this broken world that was already Predicted so long ago. If they loved Him the way I love Him they’d be overwhelmed with compassion for all those lost people that probably won’t ever hear the Gospel because we’re too busy spitting out hate instead. Even that is Predicted by the Expert – “With the tongue, we praise our Lord and Father, and with it, we curse men, who have been made in God’s likeness. Out of the same mouth come praise and cursing. My brothers, this should not be.”
I’m not surprised by “wars and rumors of wars” on every corner of the earth, because my Expert already warned me about that. I’m sad, but I’m not shocked when parents harm their own babies or even when they kill them in and out of the womb… because my Expert already told me they would. I’m repulsed, but I’m not shocked to see the sexual perversion in every form and fashion because my Expert already told me it would be this way. I’m incensed, but I’m not shocked when people distort what marriage is intended to be in trade for “same-sex”, because my Expert already told me that men will “abandon natural relations with women” and that they’ll “lust for one another” instead. I know that there is “nothing new under the sun” because my Expert says so. I know the Beginning and the End and I know how the Story ends. I know that One Day soon the King is coming back and when He does I want to be found ready for Him. I don’t know the day or the time, that’s for sure…but I’m Certain He’s Coming because my Expert told me so.
I already know everything I need to know about the Future because I serve the One Who wrote the Script. When you look at it that way, Life is as Predictable as the weather is on this new day in Virginia and I already know how to Prepare for it.
