Who Says It’s Supposed To Make Sense?

Good morning, world. Things are looking pretty good from the front porch of my farm in Virginia today. I was having a little trouble getting myself together this morning, but after my One-on-one meeting with the Love of my Life my mind, my body, and my soul are ready for whatever this new day brings. I am aware of a few Pieces of the Bigger Picture of what I’ll be called to do today, but it’s not possible to see all the Details without His Help. Today God used the deer, barely visible in the field in front of me, to remind me that He doesn’t need to reveal all the Details to me for me to Know that they exist, and I don’t need to see all the Details for me to Believe in the outcome. What a sweet reminder for me this morning, straight from the Throne of the Living God, that sometimes He only shows us a glimpse of what He has for the Future – and the rest is up to us to carry the Vision forward especially when we don’t have all the Details. Isn’t that the way you consider the Unknown too?

The human mind is a Miraculous Design, and it can be our best friend or our own worst enemy. With the mind, we conjure up our own plans, and with the mind we refuse to believe if things are not “proven” to us. With the mind, we can analyze the feelings and the motives of another, and with the mind, we can destroy any relationship because of it. With the mind, we calculate the Risks, and with the mind, we refuse to move Forward if we fail to collect all the Details first. With the mind we accept success, and with the same mind, we surrender to defeat. Fear and insecurity are born in the mind, and with the mind, we can find our Strength. With the mind, we rationalize why we refuse to move forward, and with the mind, we make up excuses for everything we don’t do that we should do. It’s the mind that causes us to doubt what God tells us to do when it “doesn’t make sense”, and it’s all because of the human mind that we miss out on His Plans…all because we listen to the voice inside the head instead of the Voice inside the Spirit. We’ll all face our Maker one day, and when we do; people of Faith won’t be judged on all those wrongs that He died to redeem us of, we’ll be judged on all those things we DIDN’T do and all those people we DIDN’T help…all because we relied on the mind and not the Spirit.

MOST of the time when God prompts us to do something in His Name, it won’t make sense if we filter it through the human mind. His Plans are usually outside of our comfort zone, and the human mind is eager to get the “Marching Orders” before it is willing to accept that the job can be done at all! But God’s Plans can’t be filtered through the human mind, and they don’t need to make sense to us! God doesn’t need the intellect within the human mind to fulfill His Plans…He needs a Heart that is Willing and a Spirit that is obedient, and when He finds that in us He provides every detail, and everything needed to succeed. Moses tried to argue with God with his human mind when he heard God’s Plans to have him lead God’s people to the Promised Land. His mind came up with excuses for why he was the wrong guy, but God took all the excuses away, and Moses started moving across that desert leading millions of people and having no earthly idea of how or when he’d get them there. Abraham argued with God over His Plans to completely destroy a city…and God was patient with him in the process. But God didn’t entertain changing His Plans because of Abraham’s opinion at all…He just wanted Abraham to trust that He knows best instead. Job’s wife tried hard to get her husband to “curse god and die” when tribulation slammed through their lives, all because her mind couldn’t accept that God had a Plan worth living for. But Job hung in there, and he didn’t let his mind take over or demand details, and in the end; his life was restored in every way… in double measure.

We’re ALL destined for Great Things and we’re all born for a Purpose, but most people will fall short of seeing God Sized things take place in their lives, all because of the human mind. I’ve been Called to do a few things in my Life that made absolutely no sense to the rest of my world, and just like Job’s wife, my world told me to shut up and to give up because of it. But my Spirit refused to give up and God gave me everything I needed to fulfill His Plan, and at the end of the day, my world sat back in AWE as they saw the Supernatural unfold when it didn’t make sense inside the human mind at all. I’m being Called to do some Big Things in this season of my Life, and even though my mind can’t imagine how those big things are possible my Spirit is willing, and my Heart is right, and I’ll do whatever the Living God has for me to do, ESPECIALLY when it doesn’t make sense…and EVEN if the world laughs at me the way they laughed at Noah. God can best be glorified when we take on the Assignment without all the Details…ESPECIALLY when it doesn’t make sense to the human mind. God loves to WOW the world. The world can only see Him through us when we’re Willing, and when we’re not because common sense is running the show…we deny the world a chance to See Him at work in our Lives, we deny Him a chance to be Glorified in front of witnesses, AND we deny ourselves the chance to hear “well done, good and faithful servant”.

When you look at it that way, why would anybody want to put their faith in the human mind?
