Good morning, world. Things are looking pretty good from the front porch of my farm in Virginia today. I stepped into the Presence of the Most High God and tossed all my cares at the foot of the Cross just as the sun was coming up this morning. I don’t exactly know how many things I prayed for this morning or how many people were placed on my Heart, but I am confident that each prayer I whispered to the God of all Creation was heard, AND I trust Him with the outcome of it all. His Word says, “Let us then approach the Throne of grace with confidence” – so it doesn’t make much sense to pray without confidence that we’ve been heard AND with confidence in the outcome even before we see it. After all, that’s what faith looks like. When I look out at this twisted world filled with desperate people attempting to live in chaos without Hope, I am MORE confident than ever that ALL they really need is the touch of my Master’s Hand, and everything can be made Right. Their state of hopelessness keeps me going day after day and year after year as I strive to share my Hope with them. Isn’t that the way you look at your Journey of Faith too?
It’s sad to see so many people living in fear and lacking confidence in the future, especially the ones who claim to Know the King of kings the way I do. From the bleachers of Life, they see calamity and uncertainty, and they have very little confidence in the future because of it. But from the Bleachers of Heaven, things don’t ever look the same as they do in this life! The God I Know “gives and takes away” – but when He decides it’s time to take away, He always has something Beautiful to replace it with…I am confident.
The God I know says, “I form the light and create darkness, I bring prosperity and create disaster; I, the Lord, do all these things” – but when He creates disaster, it will always have a Beautiful outcome too…I am confident.
Most of the time, I have no idea what the Living God is up to, and I’ve learned not to lose sleep trying to figure Him out BECAUSE I am confident. His thoughts are not my thoughts, and His ways or not my ways – AND I’M GLAD I can’t see what He sees. Though my view from the Bleachers is not the same as His, I Know Him and I Trust Him completely.
He’s a God of the most amazing Surprises….the kind of Surprises that can take your breath away and leave you speechless. But He is also a God that allows things to happen that (sometimes) look hopeless if we gauge them by what we see with our eyes from the cheap seats…and THAT’S where most people get lost. Sadly, far too many people don’t approach “the Throne of Grace with confidence,” and they don’t Believe they have a shot at being heard. To make things worse, many believe they’re “sending prayers up” to the heavens like helium balloons while overlooking the honor of approaching the Throne of the Living God with confidence! I wish the ones reacting to life’s circumstances based solely upon their view from the cheap seats could know that with just One Touch of the Master’s Hand, and every twisted piece of life will be made Right again…I am confident.
I entered the Throne of Grace with confidence today, and I have “peace that surpasses all understanding” because of it. I am confident in the Lord of lords…the King of kings…the God of all Creation…the Prince of Peace…the Wonderful Counselor…Almighty God..The Great “I Am”…Jehovah Shammah, no matter what the view looks like from the bleachers, because I am confident in my Future with Him! I see what I see and I hear what I hear, BUT with eyes and ears more focused on Him than the latest headlines, I have no fear.
How about you?
