Persistent Prayers…Is There Any Other Way?

Good morning, world. Things are looking pretty good from the front porch of my farm in Virginia today. We’re heading into my favorite season of the year, and I’ll be enjoying every minute of it! In the Fall, the days are cooler, the colors are spectacular, and most mornings are graced with fog as the cool air meets the warm ground. It’s picture-perfect, that’s for sure. This morning, after I expressed my Gratitude to the Author and Perfecter of my Faith, I began to ask for something I’ve been asking for a while now. The same request over and over and over again. If I shared what I’m asking for with others, most of them would encourage me to give up because they lack the Faith I have – absolutely NOTHING is too far-fetched for my God, and I have absolute belief that what I’m praying for will come to be one day soon. Jesus gave an example of how we’re supposed to pray using the parable of a PERSISTENT widow. She went before the non-believing judge day after day – she pestered that poor guy to death until he finally gave in to her request. So, the way I see it, if Jesus used this example to teach us to pray persistently, then I’m not ever giving up, and I know with absolute certainty that the fact that I have to wait is NOT a “sign” that God isn’t hearing me or that He won’t honor my request. That’s what Faith looks like, folks! Isn’t that the way you see it too?

The longer I live, the more surprised I am about the lack of Faith in fellow Believers. Sometimes I wonder if we even Know the same God. Sadly, so many pray as if they’re begging but not believing, and they show no sign of actually believing He’ll answer them. Some people pray as if God is too busy to hear them, as if the God of the Universe leaves the Throne when He needs a break. As for me, I am confident that my God can Manage any problem at any time. I know He hears me when I pray, that He knows my needs even before I speak them, and that He likes for His children to be persistent. My God can pour out Blessings whenever we need them. My God can heal any disease or restore any relationship. My God can make a way when there seems to be no way. The same God who parted the sea and who scattered the stars in the sky is MY GOD, and He’s “the same yesterday, today, and forevermore,” so why would I doubt His ability today? How could I possibly wonder if He hears me? I am as significant to Him as Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob were. I’m as significant to Him as the disciples were. He loves me as much as He loved Paul. My God sent Jesus Christ to die for ALL, so why would I doubt the One Who holds the world in the palm of His hand? This is the Key to walking the Journey of Faith with Boldness AND with Peace.

I pray thunder prayers to my God. I don’t pray like a wussy…I pray with BELIEF. Sometimes I wonder if people look at me during prayer meetings as if to say, ‘Did she really just pray that?’ and sometimes I know that others wake up to a bold way of praying because of the example I set with my Faith…Praise God. I have unshakable faith, and I pray with belief…this shouldn’t be a rare thing in the Family of Faith. I thank my God before I ever see the results of my prayers because I am confident He hears me. Do I always get what I want? Absolutely not! But those righteous prayers…the things I prayed for selflessly…the HUGE things I laid at the cross, believing that My God would help me…He has blessed me every single time. He’s a good God, and I work hard to be a good servant.

How about you?
